2022 Shall be the Game Changer

Well, we made it to 2022! Kinda hard to believe, right?

As we welcome this New Year with great anticipation and renewed hope, I want to take this time to reflect with you on some musings that have come to mind.

Many… no, most… okay, maybe ALL of us found ourselves bidding things farewell in 2021. Whether good, bad or otherwise, few were spared the experience of massive shifts in our own personal and collective status quo. We’ve had to come to terms with shifting tides amongst friends, family, relationships, careers, homes, traditions, hobbies, and habits.

We’ve lost people close to us, be it from mortal, physical, mental or emotional detachment. Much of this shows up as we get older, but naturally has come with so much division and injustice amid a global pandemic. My hope and prayer is that as we take a moment to reflect on the year behind us, may we choose to grieve our losses and lessons with dignity and a soft heart. By that I mean, very simply, may we all embrace the challenge and pain of our past with a renewed sense of purpose and an invitation to do better, be better and live better… for and with one another.

With that in mind, today I write to you with a challenge. In years past, I’ve found that setting New Year’s Resolutions brings with it some fairly unrealistic expectations and often sets us up for disappointment. Instead, I invite you to set an intention for the year ahead. It doesn’t have to be fancy or ambitious. It simply has to be intentional. By that I mean, tell God, the Universe, the Cosmos, the Man Behind the Curtain and/or the (Wo)Man in the Mirror, tell me or someone close to you what you want, wish, need, hope, or would love to do, be or have… then watch in amazement as the road rises to meet you.

I’ll share with you what I mean. I’ve set some BOLD intentions for 2022. Here’s a quick synopsis of what’s on the horizon for Big Red and family…

• We secured a studio apartment just outside of Nashville where my husband, Neal, and our daughter, Michaelina, intend to explore music opportunities. Our home base still remains on Long Beach Island… we simply intend to jet set to Nashville at least once a month in 2022.
• Last month, I met with my Keller Williams brokers in both LBI and Nashville to discuss EXPANSION opportunities for The Petti Real Estate Group. It’s my hope to educate everyone I know and meet about the power of relationships in real estate. So if you, or someone you know, has an interest in buying, selling or investing in Real Estate, whether that be in New Jersey, Tennessee or anywhere else in the world, I intend to be the one to help you and them.
• As I reflect on all the fun I had this year, writing, designing and launching my podcast, I intend to keep it going and make it even better with a great many knowledgeable guests, cool content and rich conversations already slated for year two of theReal Talk with Big Red Podcast. Thank you to everyone who has listened, downloaded, subscribed and appeared as a guest or caller with a question during year one. If you have a topic or a guest you’d like to see featured on the show, please write me back and let me know.
• I intend to finish outlining and drafting my memoir, which at present is loosely entitled Buy the Beach House: Pursuing the Dream with No Idea How to Get There.
• Learning and implementing all I can with regard to serving others: family, friends, community and colleagues, I intend to give back by cultivating a compassionate core of thoughtful people around me who love doing loving and lovely things for others. I intend to devote time to causes and cases that warm the heart and soothe the spirit.
• As a member of the Agent Leadership Council at my brokerage, I intend to continue mentoring new and existing agents and showing them how to propel their real estate careers beyond what they ever dreamed possible. For anyone interested in a career in real estate, I intend to provide insight and coaching to help you/them launch successfully too. I also intend to further build and increase exposure and awareness of the Keller Williams Luxury brand both on and off the island.
• Respectfully nurturing this human form in which I’ve been blessed to occupy, I intend to nourish it with proper hydration, nutrition and strength. Being gentle with myself, while also honoring what’s possible in order to become the best version of this precious gift that is my one and only life.
• I intend to continue to travel, expanding and exploring ideas and opportunities to intentionally create a LIFE BY DESIGN!

These are just a few ideas and thoughts I’ve come up with to share with you. It’s my purpose and passion to help others live the life of their dreams. It’s why my brand’s tagline is “Connecting People, Places and Dreams.”
